Blue Faced Leicester Batt Naturally Dyed

Description

This unique batt has been created using Blue Faced Leicester and a mystery dye.
(This actually means we have lost the notes but it was created about the same time as the rhubarb and comfrey batt so I suspect it's at least part comfrey.)

The dye has produced a pale, kahki colour. I feel the photo is a good representation of the colour but please be mindful that monitors vary.

These batts weighs approximately 111g in total. It has been made in two pieces as in the photo but you will receive them rolled one on top of the other.

The batt has been thoroughly rinsed but as it is a natural dye it is possible the colour will fade over time. There were no modern colour fixers used with this natural dye.

Gentle hand washing in cool water without too much agitation is the best way to preserve the colour and prevent felting.

My mum does the dyeing in her kitchen where she has various concoctions of natural dye stuffs stewing, soaking and heating. Once it has been dyed, rinsed and dried we card it twice on my Classic Carder transforming it into the most wonderful fluffy batt.

If you would like additional items I will be happy to quote you a postage price.
If you are overseas and wish to buy please contact me for a postal price.
We really want you to be happy with your item but if for any reason you should be disappointed please contact me so we can resolve any issues.

FAQs

If you would like a gradient batt creating from a batt you have found in the shop please convo me and I will do my best to accommodate your needs.
I weigh all the batts and yarn on my kitchen scales to be as accurate as possible as to how much they weigh. Wool usually carries a + or - of 5% as it is highly absorbent and can soak up atmospheric moisture.
