Sapphires can be cleaned using a soft cloth or brush and plain warm soapy water. After wiping, be sure to rinse your sapphire well to remove soapy residue. Sapphires can change colour under extreme heat, so avoid extreme temperature fluctuations. Also avoid the use of any harsh household chemicals and cleaners, including bleach or hydrofluoric acid, as chemicals can cause corrosion.
100% YES!
There is little doubt that the interest in and appreciation for untreated, coloured sapphires will continue to grow as knowledge and awareness of this truly unique gemstone increases. Through online and in-store education, Sorbet Sapphire™ will inspire both young and young at heart to appreciate natural beauty and true rarity.

It is with this very philosophy in mind that Sorbet Sapphire™ has set out on its journey to inspire the individuality in all of us. It is time we treasured a gemstone that is truly unique and as rare as each one of us.
Dating as far back as the Roman Empire, sapphires have been purchased for its blue hue. What most of us do not know is that sapphires come in a spectrum of colours and not just blue. In fact, of all the sapphires available for purchase worldwide, only about 10% are naturally colored (untreated) whereas about 90% of all sapphires showcased in jewellery stores have been treated in some way (generally to enhance colour and clarity). Unless verified by certification, almost all blue sapphires available for purchase worldwide have been altered by treatments in order to attain its rich colour.
Once individuals understand that the sapphire comes in a spectrum of colours and can be untreated, it becomes imperative that they be able to view this phenomenon. Sorbet Sapphire™ has therefore chosen to handpicked each sapphire based on its unique colour and natural beauty. showcase its unique collection of untreated, coloured sapphires. Each sapphire has also been made available in a variety of shapes, sizes, and of course colours.
Just because untreated sapphires come in a spectrum of colours, this does not mean that every shade of every colour exists and is available for purchase. What makes each Sorbet Sapphire™ truly special is that it is handpicked for its natural beauty and true rarity. No two sapphires offered by Sorbet Sapphire™ can ever be the same. Whether it is the shade of colour or the unique colour zonings in the sapphire, each tells its very own story and with it begins a legacy to be cherished.
Most sapphires (about 90%) are treated in some way in order to enhance both the colour and clarity. Treatments include heat, beryllium, surface diffusion, glass (lead) infilling, shellac infilling, impregnation with oils/waxes/dyes, etc. Each and every sapphire provided by Sorbet Sapphire™ has never and will never be treated.
After the highest quality rough sapphires have been selected by our specialists, master craftsmen use skills passed down through generations to cut and polish each sapphire, releasing its brilliance and life. The way a sapphire is cut and polished will determine how much it sparkles. By unleashing the life in the sapphire, our master craftsmen create a unique masterpiece in every one.

While you can have confidence that every Sorbet Sapphire™ is beautiful, rare, and untreated, we are able to offer further assurance through a certified grading report. All our Sorbet Sapphires™ are graded by Harold Weinstein Ltd. Gemmological Laboratory in Toronto, Canada.

As well Sorbet Sapphire™ provides a Grading Report which is an accurate assessment of your sapphire’s unique qualities: its color, carat weight, and confirmation that it is untreated.

Additionally, all sapphires or sapphire jewellery are accompanied by an appraisal certificate prepared by an independent gemological laboratory - Accurate Gemological Laboratory Inc.
