Origami Paper Crane decoration - wedding - party decor - favor - baby shower - pink with blossoms in blue, white, orange, purple - #B7ST

Favorite

Description

Connecting Through™ Cranes are made of exquisite Japanese paper; laid over with striking patterns, rich with silk-screened colors and symbolic motifs.
The papers have a special warmth, suppleness and luster that turn these cranes into small works of art, bringing a restful presence to wherever they are placed.

Your crane arrives in a white gift box with gold and white tissue, a ready-made beautiful presentation.

✦ Light-hearted ✦ Fresh ✦ Awakening ✦

This crane chooses to see and express the world through rose-tinted glasses to the benefit of everyone around; certainly a choice since clear tones of blue, orange and white dance through the blossoms.

Pink and slightest pink textured with soft raised white ink
with drifts of crisp blue, white and orange; and pastel pink and purple.
Motifs include maple leaves and blossoms of cherry and plum.

❖ SIZE

- 3.5” (9cm) from beak to tail;
- 2.5” to 5” (6cm to 13cm) wingtip to wingtip depending on whether you enjoy the wings partially or fully opened; and
- 2.75” (7cm) from base of the body to the tip of tail.

The finished measurements are approximates since the paper is gently flexible and so the angles of beak and tail can be adjusted to accommodate personal preferences. The same is true for the span of the wings.

❖ HOW THEY ARE MADE AND WHAT THEY ARE MADE OF

Each crane is folded to size by me from a 6” (15cm) square sheet of washi paper. The crane is then gift boxed, for your enjoyment or for readiness in giving as a gift.

These Japanese papers have gorgeous patterns of rich silk-screened colors, some enhanced with gold or silver inks tracing through the prints, some with raised patterns providing even greater texture to the paper. The Yuzen Chiyogami and Shinwazome Chiyogami papers have the feel of a fabric -- the long and carefully-handled plant fibers producing a material with strength, durability and flexibility. Each square is wonderfully satisfying to touch -- and for me, a pleasure to work with.

❖ PURCHASING MULTIPLE CRANES

If you have ordered multiple cranes, up to five will arrive in your gift box. If you would like to do any of the following, let’s communicate through my profile page https://www.etsy.com/people/connectingthrough so we can arrange the most favorable shipping charges: • purchase additional boxes with the gold and white tissue for giving your cranes as gifts to separate individuals; • have each crane shipped to you already in its own box; • send your cranes to different individuals/addresses instead of only to you ; or • purchase more than six cranes.

❖ GREAT OCCASIONS FOR GIFT GIVING – OR FOR YOU!

● housewarming gift
● host/hostess gift
● gift for teacher
● gift for friend
● gift for family
● ornament
● home/office décor
● congratulations: graduation, wedding, baby

These origami cranes rest naturally on flat or textured surfaces. They look great on a bookshelf, a bureau, file cabinet or nestled in a plant.

They make a particularly lovely gift for those interested in origami, in Japanese culture, or in conveying a message of peace and hope. And, traditionally, the crane and the practice of folding cranes are associated with longevity and good fortune. These aspects add an extra layer of what makes these tiny pieces of art so special.

❖ ABOUT THE IMAGES

Colors - Keep in mind that the colors in the images represent paper colors as close as possible, though they may vary slightly due to the way your monitor is calibrated.

Multiples - the last photo is of multiple cranes, this is to show some of the other patterns that are available. The product in this listing is for the one featured item only.

Pattern - where the pattern lands upon each part of the bird may vary slightly since each sheet is cut from a larger “parent” sheet, rather like cutting out a piece of wallpaper that has a small repeating pattern from a larger roll. You might find that a blossom that is on the neck on one crane may instead be on the wing on another. If you’d like to see how this same paper may look a little differently, look at the Crane in Flight for the same pattern.

Please, don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions about colors or patterns.

❖ THE CRANES IN FLIGHT™ SERIES

If you enjoy this crane but would prefer to have one that you can hang from the leaves of a plant or the corner of a bookshelf or the handle of a door, consider the Crane in Flight version.

The Crane in Flight is made of exactly the same highest-quality papers; and the size of the crane on its own is the same as its resting counterpart with the addition of a loop of golden thread and clear crystal, bringing the overall size from top to bottom at approximately 7”.

They are lovely home décor but they can also be a simple reminder to take a moment for a deep breath – a gentle nudge to re-ground you in your busy day.

❖ MORE GORGEOUS PATTERNS AND COLORS

There are pastels for baby showers, golds and silvers for anniversaries, and lush colors to match flowers and other elements of a wedding palette:

- Reds, from vibrant to staid
- Oranges, from juicy to airy
- Pinks, from pale to intense
- Blues, from deep navy to powder light
- Purples, from crisp to pastel
- Greens, from dark and rich to clear and tropical

The various images in the pattern together with the colors amplify the impression of each paper. Plum blossoms outlined in raised white ink can connect with a feeling of Flower Power, outgoing and cheery; rich blues with butterflies resonate more with a sweet serenity; bright reds with green leaves traced in gold emanate confidence; and the browns and beiges with branches feel grounded.
