The kitchen witch is found in the folk lore of many cultures. In Germany, a witch in the house is said to bring good luck. In many areas a sheaf of wheat is believed to ensure abundance. My witch covers both, a witch made from a sheaf of wheat!

My kitchen witch is an original design. She is woven of golden North Dakota wheat.

She measures about 9 inches high by 9 inches wide, 12 measuring the string, too.

Wheat weavings are very long lasting despite their fragile look. I still have some of my earliest work which is between 25 and 30 years old. And when I clean the cobwebs off they look like they did new. Speaking of cleaning, they can be swished in mild suds, rinsed, and then dried in their original shape. Or lightly dusted with a feather.

Don't be the only one flying around the kitchen!
