Eight vintage postcards showing some of the many traditional costumes of the Black Forest area in Baden in Germany. The cards must be from the sixties, seventies and eighties (all cards were actually sent).
All 8 cards show the costume of the costume of Gutachtal. The costume from Gutach is famous for its straw hat with the big red woollen pompoms. The colour red means that she is an unmarried woman; married women wear the same hat with black woollen pompoms. The decoration around the neck is called a koller. The lady with the big flower crown on the second postcard is in bridal costume. Cards 3 to 7 show also the costume of the High Black Forest (in the south of the Black Forest). The ladies from the High Black Forest wear black satin bonnet-like hats and lovely embroidered black velvet bodices.

All cards come from my own traditional costume collection; because of space shortage, I sell parts of it here on Etsy.

Payment can be done by Paypal and within the EU also by direct bank transfer. Details on request.
