Description

Packard 300 for 1952 by the Packard Moror Company of Detriot Michigan. Vintage ad published in Collier's magazine in 1951.

The Packard 300 was built and sold for model years 1951 and 1952. This was the upper mid range car sold as a four door sedan.

This ad shows the car in the Gallant Green color with the distintive hood ornament in front of a palatial home surrounded by trees and green lawn.
Touting its features as "the smartest" with the "finest performance" and "the best long range buy."

An interesting feature of this ad is the inclusion of a photo of the interior designer, Dorothy Draper (1899 - 1969). For the first time she was using her talents in the field of motoring. Ms. Draper was the first to professionalize interior design as a profession by establishing her company, Dorothy Draper & Company in 1923. A highly unusual move for a woman at that time. She brought her creative and design ideas to many public buildings through out the world.

Some discoloration and foxing due to age.

Approximately 9 1/4 x 10 3/4

These are beautiful. I love them. They were bent in mailing but seller was very fast in refunding for the purchase. They get a 5 star because the seller was easy to work with and they were exactly as pictured. I did end up able to use them but having them drymounted to remove the creases was pricy! They are so beautiful I needed to find a way to use them because after weeks of searching there was certainly no replacing them!
