Tamar (the blonde white and rainbow maned lioness)

A stuffed toy lion jointed at the head, arms and legs. Made with white and rainbow hand-dyed woven mohair and blonde long hair Kidassia goat fur (for its mane). It is stuffed entirely with natural NZ sheep's wool.

Like all my other 'Venetian'-style lions, it has angel wings on its shoulders made of woven white mohair fur fabric and remnants of other fur materials sewn into a recycled patchwork so that it is able to have parts salvaged from it.

Surprisingly, this is meant to be a female lion.

Yes, there have been real-life cases of lionesses having manes as well as male lions.

Safety Note: Tamar is a collector's item that is intended for adults rather than children. It was made with hardware components, craft wood discs and traditional glass teddy bear eyes; components deemed unsuitable in the use of producing toys that are intended for children. Keep well out of reach for babies. Children can still view this toy, but should handle or play with it.
