This is a pdf pattern (NOT the actual object) for a 5" tall crocheted seahorse. They are fast to make, so you can do a whole herd - they would look great displayed in a shadowbox, suspended from filaments in glass jars, or made into ornaments!

The pattern is 4 pages long an has 3 in-progress images that show how to attach the fin and eyes.

The pdf will be available as a direct download from Etsy. And as with all of my patterns, please feel free to email me with any questions you might have as you work through it.

You'll need:

A size G hook (I like the aluminum hooks from Boye brand – their size G is a 4.25mm hook).
Worsted weight yarn (I prefer 100% cotton yarns like Sugar n' Cream or Peaches & crème)
Something to use for the eyes (felt circles and seed beads, for example)

You'll need to be familiar with these crochet stitches:

Single Crochet
Double Crochet

Please note that this pattern is worked in the round, in a spiral, just like most amigurumi. Also, I prefer to work in the back loops only (except while making the fin, which is flat). For more discussion on this, and about why certain stitches are called for at certain times, check out this primer on sculptural crochet: http://supernaturale.com/articles.html?id=277
