Cleaning Instructions:

Fill a bowl with lukewarm soapy water. Add a few drops of dish soap that doesn't leave a film (Do not use antibacterial soap) Place the gold-plated jewelry in the soapy water. Let it soak for 15 minutes. Take the jewelry out of the soapy water. Use a soft toothbrush to gently scrub in the tight places on the jewelry. Rinse well and dry with a paper towel. Rub the jewelry very softly and gently with a polishing cloth that is made for polishing gold to restore the shine of the gold. The soapy water will also get rid off any residue caused by body lotions, oils, hair products and restore the shine of the stones.

The History of the Evil Eye:

The evil eye was first depicted in Mesopotamia about 5,000 years ago on clay tablets, however the evil eye may have originated as early as the Paleolithic age. Evil eye figures are found in Jewish, Christian and Muslim cultures as well as Buddhist and Hindu societies. The evil eye is a curse believed to be cast by a malevolent glare directed towards a person who is unaware. Many cultures believe that receiving the evil eye may cause one misfortune and bad luck. Talismans created to protect against the evil eye are also frequently called "evil eyes".
