Chili or soup bowl with blue green or teal transferware. This pattern is fresh and bright - and the floral border is not overpowering. These restaurant bowls are real beauties - and very rare. Inn the piles of restaurant ware that we found in this pattern, there were only four bowls like these.
While it is common to refer to these as chili bowls; in old catalogs, these are termed "nappies." The rolled edge is indicative as is the shape. The rolled edge does help with stray driblets.

Marilyn mixes well with other patterns as well; like Marion - in the photograph.
And still, these are heavy and durable restaurant plates. They will withstand the dishwasher, resist staining and they are oven proof. They will serve for years to come.

Produced by Mayer China in Beaver Falls, Pa. ca. 1930-1940.

Measurement: 5 3/4" D. X 2 1/4" H.

Condition: Wonderful. No chips, cracks or crazing; glaze is excellent.
This pattern mixes well with other Mayer China in this color: http://etsy.me/2yDTzJS
