Beautiful French or Polish Cathedral Blacksmith Anvil Solid Wrought Iron Dated 1811
Weight is 105kgs or 231Lbs.


This type of anvil is built from several pieces of wrought iron firewelded together, which can be clearly seen on the front arches. It has the Cathedral Anvil shape, with deep set arches and steps up the sides.

Anvil is in fair condition. The Anvil hasn't been cleaned, repaired or tampered with, and retains it's original patina, that took hundreds of years to achieve. It is stamped on the front with the date 1811.

The anvil measures 15" x 3 1/2" on the top flat. It is just over 1 foot tall. And the base measures 17" x 8 3/4"

Perfect hammer for what I want. It has flaws, but they were well explained in the photos. The price was great, and shipping was fast.

Any misuse of the blade that was not covered in the initial commission brief is not covered however. If you want a knife that can be thrown or batoned, it is a very different heat treatment to a knife that just cuts like a straight razor. Please be specific about the knife's intended use in your order.
