For those who like the idea of vintage items that serve a useful purpose: check out this beautiful non-working copper heater that's ready to be your secret storage. The patent number dates back to the 1920s which makes this find just shy of 100 years old, the industry standard benchmark to be designated as "antique".

With a few enhancements, this authentic vintage/antique, copper Polar Club heater has gone from working electrical space heater to a vintage decor piece with two storage areas. As shown in the photos, there is space in the original tube-like heating element for extra cash or very small items like beads. And you're right: that plug doesn't really belong. But it looks like it does and it serves a purpose if you're hiding a secret inside. The base of the heater can house your larger items. I have re-designed the bottom so that it can be easily removed and I have upholstered the interior to protect your secrets. No tools are necessary to remove either the cage that surrounds the heating element nor the bottom panel.

The heater is in good cosmetic condition for its very long life. The cage and heating element are both original, however a frayed cord has been removed. Please look closely at the photos to see an area in the 11:00 position of the copper reflector that has been dented. It was the way the heater was found and I have not attempted to alter it. As shown, here is also some paint loss on the back of the copper.

The piece measures approximately 10.75" wide across the reflector and 13.5" high. It will ship via USPS to the US lower 48. I am happy to ship to Alaska and Hawaii. Please convo for quote.

[Please note that I work with authentic, used, vintage pieces, not reproductions. Although I strive to use pieces that are true to their original condition, there may be minimal use/wear marks or factory imperfections, especially on pieces that were never meant to be seen.]

Additional policies

As a company which both buys and sells on the internet, we know first hand how important it is to trust the people with whom you are doing business. And although JTBALDWIN is fairly new in the market, we want you to know that we have been selling vintage items on Ebay since 2002 and are proud to have earned the distinction of ‘Top Rated Seller’ for our customer service. Of course, not every buyer goes to the trouble of rating a seller and supplying feedback, but those who did consistently tell us that they appreciate our attention to detail and accurate descriptions, care in packing, and honesty — and we strive to continue that level of service on Etsy.

We make every attempt to treat our customers with courtesy and respect and we take great care in providing a quality product.
