Description

In my Low-Profile Solitaire, a one-carat diamond sits at a minimal height securely bezel set within the metal, a clean-looking and understated setting--perfect for someone who works with her hands or who has an active lifestyle and doesn't want to worry about her ring. I carved this ring with a lithe sweeping shape, its narrower sides swooping down to a wider base for counterbalance. (Just like me!! I kid :)

This listing is a solitaire in Platinum 950 (a 95% pure alloy) custom made for your finger size. This ring INCLUDES a 1ct diamond, G color or better, VS2 clarity or better, and Excellent cut (per GIA grading standards). Please note that I can make this ring using a stone you already have (a family diamond, for instance), or help you find a stone of your choosing, such as diamond with more specific color or clarity grades, moissanite, sapphire, ruby, etc. Please send me a convo or email and I'll can give you a cost estimate and additional information.

I can also make this ring in 14K or 18K white or yellow gold, 14K or 18K palladium white gold, or palladium 950. Please convo for pricing in your preferred metal. I have a detailed description of all metals I use here: http://blog.cheyenneweil.com/f-a-q/#12

**Please note this photo is of an equivalent ring but in 14K white gold! (thx!)

In Platinum including a 1ct G/VS2 Excellent cut diamond:

---- DIAMOND INFO ----

The diamond in this ring will be AT LEAST a G color, 1 carat diamond, VS2 clarity or better. I only buy diamonds with the highest overall cut grade (per GIA grading standards), which is "Excellent." Cut has two grading sub-categories and I buy stones that are either the highest grade: "Excellent" or the 2nd highest: "Very Good." I'm of the opinion that cut is the most important diamond characteristic: diamonds are optical creatures and if a round brilliant isn't cut to very exacting standards, it just doesn't sparkle right and it won't matter much how great the color or clarity was.

All diamonds I purchase will come with a grading certification from GIA or AGS. All diamonds I purchase are also Kimberly Process guaranteed (conflict-free certified).

In addition to white diamonds, I can get gorgeous natural champagne or cognac-colored diamonds. I can also get lab-created diamonds (man made in a laboratory rather than dug out of the ground; these are identical in chemical composition to natural diamonds); these are ideal for those squeamish about destructive mining practices. * Prices would likely be a bit less here, so send a note for quotes.

----

This ring is hand carved in wax using pointy tools and then cast using the lost-wax method. The band is carved thick and nicely rounded on the inside for comfort and wearability. I set the diamond in a bezel, a very secure, non-snaggy, and visually sedate setting.

---- SHIPPING ----

* Custom pieces take around 1 month to make (I will let you know the timeline via email). If you have a pending wedding, let me know; I will be sure to get you your ring on time!
* I ship USPS Priority Express, insured. Shipping price below is for an insured package in the US.
** YES!! I DO SHIP INTERNATIONALLY! Please convo me for a quote to your country.

    I just received my ring and I couldn't be happier. Not only is it a perfect fit, but it's even more beautiful than I could have imagined. I received it in the exact amount of time she stated, and was so impressed by her communication throughout the process and her patience while she answered my many questions! I would absolutely purchase from this shop again. Thank you, Cheyenne!

Shipping policies

If the item is a custom order, please allow at least ~4-6 weeks for me to make the piece (I can let you know a more accurate timeline via email when you order). If you have a wedding coming up, just let me know and I can make sure you get your rings in time :) (*Rush fee might apply--additional info below*)

I ship ready-to-wear items within three days of receipt of payment. Multiple items may be shipped together (simply calculate total insurance cost).

** SHIPPING TO A DIFFERENT ADDRESS **
Contact me if you have special shipping instructions.

** INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING **
I DO ship internationally; I just do not have it listed in my purchase section because of the wide variety of pricing and insurance depending upon where the item is shipped. Just convo me with your address and I'll give you a shipping quote. Very generally, it's around $40-50.

Otherwise, I ship USPS Priority or Express, insured. You can specify uninsured if you want to but please be aware that I cannot responsible for damage or loss by the postal company.

** UNINSURED SHIPPING PRICES **
* To US: $7
* To Canada: $10
* Everywhere else: $15

Of course, if you are located in Portland and would prefer to pick up your piece and save on shipping, you are welcome to do so and I'd love to meet you :)

** PACKAGING **
All pieces are sent out in ring boxes, which is then in a protective little box tied up with a satin ribbon. A gift card is enclosed stating exactly what your piece is, along with cleaning instructions. All this is in another box to protect the lot from the wilds of the Postal Services. A box in a box in a box. Yay!

Additional policies

** RUSH ORDERS **
I hate to have to do it but I get a lot of requests for rush orders and I'm finding it increasingly difficult to accommodate them with my current workload. Therefore, if you need to rush your order, I'll charge between $125-$175 additional for fully custom designed/carved orders and $75-$100 for the pieces listed in my Etsy shop. The range in price is because my workload can fluctuate quite a bit. Thank you for understanding!

** RING SIZING **
When ordering a ring to be made to size, please be absolutely sure you have the correct ring size. Go to a jewelry store and have them measure your finger using both a narrow measuring ring and a wide ring. This gives me a very good idea of the shape of your finger. Be sure to take into account how your fingers feel that day; i.e., the temperature at the time of sizing (your fingers can swell a little during warmer weather, shrink during cold dry weather--if you wear rings normally you probably have a good sense of whether you are having an average finger-size day). Many of the rings I make are not easily re-sized once finished due to the way the carvings go all the way around the ring so it is really important I have the right size when I make you a ring. Don't worry if you are between sizes; just let me know all details that seem pertinent and I'll make it to fit.

** SNEAKY RING SIZING HOW-TO!! **
Two options I can think of: Select a ring she wears on the SAME finger you wish to buy her a ring (or him--goes both ways :). You could either bring it into a jewelry shop to get the size, or you could buy this cheapy ring mandrel from amazon.com: http://tinyurl.com/7h2yorx (in case she doesn't often go without it or would notice if it were missing for any period). Slip the ring on the mandrel and note the size; just make sure it is a nice snug fit. Best is to also send me the mandrel to calibrate sizing on my end; there can be some variation in plastic mandrels.

Or, the more dramatic option (one of my clients successfully did this!): enlist the help of one of her friends to take her shopping and stop by a jewelry shop on the pretense that the friend wants to be sized for whatever reason. The friend then needs to convince your fiance-to-be to try on the sizers too "just because" and the friend can later tell you her size.

** SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS **
Any special requests regarding shipping or notes to be included when I send your piece, etc. should be made known to me using the screamingest bold ALL-CAPS red flashing font you can find. Basically, just make it obvious to me if you have any special requests; I'd hate to miss something critical in a "note to seller" or anything :)
