A lovely set including a petite suitcase and a train case in an amazing shade of steel blue. The set features patina'ed brass-tone hardware, rounded edges, white piping, and a boatload of charm. These cases are unmarked with a brand name, though the key (YES, there is a working key included!) is marked CHENEY, Made in England, Patent No. 481600. Cheney was (and still is, I believe) a lock manufacturer in the UK.

The suitcase measures approximately 21"l by 13"h by 7"d. The small carry-on case measures approximately 12"l by 6 1/2"h by 9"d. Both cases are covered in a steel blue smooth paper that has a bit of a textured appearance. Faux leather edging and white piping make lovely accents.

The interior of the suitcase is lined in a vibrant blue satiny fabric. The top of the clamshell features an elastic pocket and the bottom is open. The lining is in good condition with no water stains. There is a small 1/2" tear on the bottom half of the clamshell and the lining is pulling away from the shell a bit in the upper right corner of the top half -- still intact though. This could be remedied with a bit of strong glue.

The interior of the train case is lined in blue paper and features a full mirror up above and a plastic tray below. No flaws to note.
