Highlights
This charming silver monogramed pendant opens to reveal a miniature powder compact and mirror. The front is engraved with the initials FCM and we can only wonder at what these letters stand for, and which Edwardian lady the compact would have belonged to. It has a large jump ring which would allow the owner to wear it on a guard chain or other long chain - perhaps hidden away at parties and taken out to use in private. It is amazing that it still contains the original tiny powder puff. The mirror surface has become a little hazy with age but the glass is intact. The hinge and catch are in lovely working order. There are some dents to the front and back, but we think these add to its charm as they show it has been well used and loved. It is fully hallmarked with the sterling lion passant and assay mark for Birmingham 1919. This beautiful piece would make a wonderful pendant today.
