For this piece......I was inspired by someone I don't even know...I watch my neighbor work in her yard - cutting grass/watering shrubs day in and day out - everything always has to be 'pretty' and in its place..saturdays are not spent 'enjoying the yard' but working, always working...I never see her play in her yard - I never see her lay down in the grass and 'cloud watch' with her kids - or have a water balloon fight on a hot summer day......don't get me wrong, I see the importance of keeping things neat and orderly - but - playing basketball with my son - star gazing at night with him and wondering if we really are alone in the universe, eating ice cream while watching cars go by - those are things that are priceless - and I think when I am old - and sitting in my favorite chair, I will NOT wish I had cut the grass more, trimmed the bushes more 'perfectly' - or dusted more - because I will know that my time was truly spent having fun - laughing out loud - and enjoying each moment with my family.......after all, life is too short to worry about blades of grass - (plus I think dandelions are pretty!)
