This is a large 800 silver brooch that was made in Egypt, circa the early 1980s. An Egyptian queen and flowers, with finely etched details on top, have been cut out of the circular center. The center is surrounded by beautiful filigree work that is in the shape of petals. The brooch has a bale on the back, so that it can also be worn as a pendant. There is a C clasp on the straight pin that is on the back of the brooch. Egyptian silversmiths first began marking jewelry around 1916. This brooch has three marks on it (ie: on the front of a petal, on the back of the queen figure, and on the straight pin that is on the back), which is not uncommon on old Egyptian pieces. All three marks include the Egyptian symbol for 800 silver, which looks like an inverted V with two dots next to it. You can see this in images nos. 4 and 5 (the front of a petal), image no. 8 (the back of the queen), and image no. 10 (the straight pin).

The diameter of this brooch/pendant, measuring from the tips of the petals, is about 2 inches.

This brooch/pendant is in good vintage condition. The pin on the back is slightly bent. You would not have to straighten the bend, in order to wear this beautiful piece of jewelry.
