Description

I consider this to be one of the most important messages I have made as a designer activist: there is ground all around us that can and should be cultivated. It's in empty city lots, on rooftops, in window boxes, and other surprising nooks and crannies. This image is inspired by a 1944 Garden for Victory poster that also featured a foot and pitchfork along with the slogan, "Groundwork for Victory." The setting then was the suburban or rural lawn--our setting now is the urban food deserts. Urban farming as a source of nutrition and education has to be part of our future.

Our framing option is a 1-1/2" wood frame, in a choice of colors, wired to hang. The Michael is our exclusive poster frame design, hand-made here in Portland, Oregon of solid poplar.

SIZE: 12 in. x 18 in.

PRINT: Offset Press on archival paper

EDITION: Open

MADE in the United States, Ships flat.

This art print is part of a self-commissioned poster campaign committed to civic innovation and social progress-- better food, better gardens, better cities. It is artful advocacy for the modern homefront.

I ship prints cardboard stay-flat mailer envelope or a sturdy tube depending on order size. Each print is in its own clear plastic sleeve for protection.

If your print doesn't arrive within 2 weeks, send me a note and let me know it hasn't come yet. Sometimes, things really do just get lost in the mail. I'm always happy to send out a replacement.
