Lovely little antique early Victorian rouge pot. Cut faceted crystal glass with star cut base and prettily engraved sterling silver lid with full English hallmarks for London 1847. It has the maker's initials JH. The hallmarks are very clear and the jar and lid are in excellent condition. No chips, nibbles, discolouration or rubs etc to the glass and only one tiny ding to the silver lid visible only on the interior. There is also a tiny piece of something stuck to the bottom of the interior. I have not tried to remove it and it may well flick off. The central cartouch is still vacant so it could be personalised. The lid is still firmly in place when turned upside down. Just about as good as it gets and remarkable for 170 years old.
It is 1.5" in diameter and 1.5" high.
