Instant download

Description

This listing is for a digital pdf pattern for a sewn and stuffed arm to fit any of the DIY miniature dress forms I designed. The half scale arms may also fit on other half scale dress forms that have flat armhole plates.

Patterns to make the dress forms are sold separately. Here are links to the listings for the three different DIY dress forms that these arms are designed to fit:

The arms either tie on with ribbons or can be pinned in place. They can be used either one or two at a time.

Half scale, one third scale, and quarter scale size variations are included with this pattern. Below are the approximate finished measurements for each size of arm. The arm is based on US size 8 measurements.

Half Scale:
Shoulder to wrist: 11.6” (29.5 cm)
Shoulder to elbow: 6.4” (16.2 cm)
Bicep circumference: 5.9” (15.1 cm)
Elbow circumference: 5.4” (13.8 cm)
Wrist circumference: 3.2” (8 cm)

One Third Scale:
Shoulder to wrist: 7.7” (19.7 cm)
Shoulder to elbow: 4.3” (10.8 cm)
Bicep circumference: 4” (10.1 cm)
Elbow circumference: 3.6” (9.2 cm)
Wrist circumference: 2.1” (5.3 cm)

Quarter Scale:
Shoulder to wrist: 5.8” (14.8 cm)
Shoulder to elbow: 3.2” (8.1 cm)
Bicep circumference: 3” (7.6 cm)
Elbow circumference: 2.7” (6.9 cm)
Wrist circumference: 1.6” (4 cm)

Materials Needed:

Note: The quantities listed below are for a single half scale arm. One fourth scale and one third scale arms will need smaller amounts of the materials.

* 10” wide by 13” long (25 cm by 33 cm) piece of lightweight non-stretch fabric. If you are purchasing fabric, get 3/8 yard (.35 meter). Optionally, for the half scale arm only, you may also want a piece of lightweight interfacing the same size as the fabric.
* Thread
* 2 to 3 yards (2 to 3 meters) of 1/8” (3 mm) wide ribbon
* Scrap of corrugated cardboard
* Double sided tape
* Glue (any type that will work with paper)
* 1 ounce (30 g) fiber fill

Intermediate level sewing skills are recommended for this pattern. The sewing steps are described in detail with photographs of each step, so an adventurous beginner may be successful, however. The main challenge is that you need to be able to sew an accurate 1/4" (6 mm) seam allowance on small curved pieces of fabric.
