Item details

Vintage from the 1920s

Vintage trade card ad for Spaulding's Blue Ribbon or Butter-Krust Bread featuring a swordfish on the front and some informational text about the swordfish on back. This card was also part of a collection of Invisible Magic Color cards with a patent date of July 12, 1921 by the Invisible Color Print Corp. in New York City.

The card measures 4 1/2 inches by 3 1/2 inches. Overall good condition.

The directions state "to make the magic colors appear in the picture, dip the point of the Invisible Color Wand in clean water and use as a brush." There is some purpling on the illustration. Not sure if this is the Magic Color effect or not but I'm sure that the coloring effect has probably not lasted throughout 95 years.

An interesting and unique trade card for the collector.
