The COBRA is an accessory for the piccolo. It is worn on the forefinger and supports the piccolo, making it easier to hold while playing. The COBRA is handmade from metal with flexible plastic pads, so it will not scratch the piccolo nor does it hurt the hand.
The COBRA is constructed to be flexible enough to adjust by hand, yet strong enough to hold its shape after adjustment. The COBRA should be adjusted to fit the size of the left forefinger (index finger), within the range of US ring sizes indicated.
COBRA A is the basic version of the Cobra flute support with a single ring and simple "tail." It is ideal for supporting a piccolo.
The rings come in several colors; the "heads" and "tails" are all black.
Choose from three ring colors: Black, Silver, Gold.
Choose from 5 sizes to fit the left forefinger:
X-Small (US ring size 5-7), Small (US ring size 7-9), Medium (US ring size 9-11), Large (US ring size 11-13), and X-Large (US ring size greater than 13).
The Cobra is worn on your left forefinger (index finger) close to the line where your finger meets the palm of your hand, not closer to the knuckle where a ring is usually worn.The X-Small Cobra fits fingers measuring less than 2.14 inches (54.5 mm); the Small Cobra fits fingers measuring 2.14-2.34 inches (55-59.5 mm); the Medium Cobra fits fingers measuring 2.35-2.54 inches (60-64.5 mm); the Large Cobra fits fingers measuring 2.55-2.74 inches (65-69.5 mm); the X-Large Cobra fits fingers measuring 2.75 inches (70mm) and larger.

4.5 out of 5 starsThe cobra A flute support that was sent to me doesn’t look like the pictures in the Information Sheet that came with it nor the pictures on Mistic Media’s website. Both the tail and the head are shaped differently. The wire it is made from looks to be thinner than what is depicted in the pictures. I find the metal wire it is made from is not strong enough and constantly bends out of shape as I use it. While I find that I can more stably hold the flute wearing the cobra A than not, overall it has been a bit of a disappointment.

Sorry you were disappointed in your Cobra A. The Cobra A is the lightest version of the Cobra and is best suited for use with a piccolo. We have now changed its description to be a piccolo support.

The Cobra A left hand support makes it difficult to reach my keys on my flute (I have shorter fingers). Upon extended use, I found my index finger movement to be hindered, and my finger/hand went numb from the pressure on the back of the finger. Not a good product for me.

Safely arrived. I bought two “Cobra B” for Mum and myself. We took our forefingers size and i wrote them when i ordered. I asked him to make smaller than actual our size. Because i had ordered “Cobra C” before and i had him to make the right size. But it was too loose and too big. Before we used cobra B, we had to adjust it to our forefingers a little by our hands and longnose pliers. But it wasn’t much difficult or it didn’t take lots of time. They support us when we play the flute. Mom doesn’t feel pain with it on her finger but i feel pain a little because of fibromyalgia. But they are working well.
