Description

This is the first in our series of Mysterious Floating Crow Houses of the Pacific Northwest. This is a mixed media ink and acrylic painting of two crows in a Rococo-esque round floating house adorned with skeleton keys, found drifting through remote Pacific NorthWest rain forests. No one really knows where they came from, but we have a few theories (see below) however, we find it best to leave their origins to your imagination.

The Mysterious Floating Crow Houses of the Pacific Northwest

A rare sight in the uninhabited forests of the Pacific Northwest, the Mysterious Floating Crow houses are one of the many mysteries of the PNW rainforests. First written about in diaries of unnamed boy and girl scouts in the late 1940’s, many of these houses have been spotted over the years by solitary forest travelers. Not much is known about these houses or the crows that seem to inhabit them. This regional subspecies has been identified as Corvus brachyrhynchos pacificus. They range from the Pacific Coast of Northern Oregon and Washington to the Olympics. Unlike the American Crow, they prefer to live in areas away from human dwellings; preferring the deep forests that are free of regular human wanderers and their companions. Their calls are lower pitched than the common raven, and carry along the root systems of trees to be felt for miles surrounding them.

This is a collaboration between Kirsten A. Moore and W. Brent Wear. Kirsten draws in ink, Brent paints in acrylic paint. Check out Brent's shop here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/brentwear and Kirsten's shop here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/piperewan

Returns & exchanges

normally, i do not take returns. if an item is damaged in shipping, please contact me immediately; preferably with a photo of the damaged item and its packaging. if the item has been insured (i insure items/orders costing over $100.) a claim will need to be filed with the carrier. if an item "breaks" under less than normal "wear and tear," please contact me. in general, i will repair or in extreme cases replace the item. if an item does not fit, because you mis-measured, you don't like it or you changed your mind, that is not grounds for replacement. once you purchase an order THERE ARE NO REFUNDS. i am a very small company, and i cannot afford to eat returns like chain stores can, so please choose wisely. i make every effort to photograph everything, and represent their colours as best as i can, but computer screens vary.
