Description

These fused glass cabochon stud earrings have an amazing color shift from orange to teal green! As the light moves over the glass the color makes it's change. Fully fused at 1500 degrees Fahrenheit, the small round post earrings have sparkling and brilliant colors. Just look at the photos and see the colors shift from an orange to gold and a teal green. The color shifts are quite beautiful and add a lot of appeal to these little earrings. The back is black and the sides are rimmed with fiery metallic red and gold. This handmade jewelry will be great for every day wear and may find a favored place in your jewelry collection. These stud earrings are from my Umeboshi Jewelry Designs collection.

The cabochons measure .5 inches in diameter and are fitted with sterling silver studs. The clasps are hypoallergenic and have a wide base that make gripping easier. Handmade in the USA.

Di-chroic means two colors and this glass reflects/transmits different colors depending on the angle of light. When it is worn with different colors, it appears to pick up and reflect some of those colors so it really enhances the total look. I call this the "mood" of the glass. When the dichroic layer is capped, like it is in these earrings, the colors become rich and mysterious. For this reason, dichroic glass is very coveted by glass jewelry artisans.

I make all my jewelry at Dark Hollow Studio in the Appalachian mountains of West Virginia. Each piece is carefully fired and annealed in a digital kiln for beautiful results!
