Here we have a lovely plate commemorating the Pittsburgh Commandery in 1898. This beautiful plate is 8" in diameter. It is decorated with two hand painted ducks and has a striking dark blue/cobalt border with gold trim. The plate reads, "Pittsburgh Commandery, No. 1, K.T. (for Knights Templar), 1898, Twenty Seventh Triennial." There is also a small cross in a crown on the front of the plate. The back of the plate is marked, "Knowles Taylor Knowles, Semi-Vitreous Porcelain, East Liverpool, Ohio, U.S.A." This plate is one of seven plates (known as the Wildlife series) that were made to commemorate the 27th Triennial Conclave of the Pittsburgh Commandery No. 1 (Free Masons), in Pittsburgh, PA, on October 11th-14th, 1898.

This charming plate is in very good vintage condition, especially considering that it is 119 years old! A small amount of the gold lettering has worn off the front of the plate and there is some light crazing (as is typical with plates of this age). There are no chips, cracks, fading, stains or repairs. The colors are bright, clear and vibrant.

Knowles, Taylor & Knowles (KT&K) was a pottery company in East Liverpool, Ohio from 1854 to 1931. The original owners were: Issac Knowles, John Taylor, (Issac's son-in-law) and Homer Knowles (Issac's son). The pottery produced all types of wares from yellow ware, ironstone, and semi-vitreous dinnerware.

Thank you for looking! Please contact us with any questions or if you require additional pictures.

Any over estimates on shipping greater than $1.00 will be promptly refunded. We do not add any handling, packaging or materials fees. Buyer pays actual shipping costs. We will combine shipping costs whenever possible.

We are happy to ship outside the US. Please use the "policies and shipping" tab, located beneath the item's pictures to determine shipping cost.

*** Customs duties, taxes and processing fees may be incurred, depending on the country you're shipping to. You may be asked to pay these costs before receiving your parcel. These fees are charged by the "receiving" country. JingleBeanFarm is not responsible for these fees.

All items are Vintage or Antique and may show natural wear due to age and use. Items are described to the best of our ability and knowledge. Wear or damage is noted to the best of our ability. All measurements are approximations. Please examine the pictures carefully. Thank you very much for your interest and your business!

Shipping policies

Purchases will be shipped within 1 to 3 business days of purchase. Orders will be shipped to the address on your Etsy invoice unless another address is specified in the “Note to Seller” when making your purchase.

We will refund any shipping charges that are more than $1 above actual shipping cost. On an order of multiple items we will try to combine shipping and refund the difference in postage costs, if necessary, when your order ships. It is not always possible to combine shipping, especially with breakable items..... but we will try.

In an effort to be green, we reuse packing materials whenever possible. This allows us to keep shipping costs low and keeps reusable supplies out of the landfill. Every item is carefully wrapped and packaged with quality wrapping materials for safe shipment. In the event of a lost or damaged item, please contact us as quickly as possible so we can work together to resolve the issue.

DOMESTIC SHIPPING
Orders are shipped via USPS, UPS or FEDEX, whichever is fastest and most cost effective. Estimated shipping charges are for shipping to the contiguous United States. Please contact us for shipping quotes to Alaska or Hawaii. If you need an item sooner, contact us for expedited shipping rates before you purchase.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING
We WILL ship internationally! Please contact us first for shipping costs. All fees associated with international shipping are the buyer’s responsibility. Items shipped to countries outside the USA may incur import taxes, according to the laws of your country. Check duty fees for your country here: www.dutycalculator.com.

REFUNDS TO OUR INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS: Due to the fact that international shipping is sometimes a very lengthy process. Lost or missing packages will not be refunded until 60 days AFTER shipping date. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may incur, but occasionally packages get misdirected and take several weeks to arrive.

INSURANCE:
All breakable items will be insured.. Insurance fees are figured into the shipping fees. No extra insurance is required.
