Very rare set of 5 Saw Set hammers, straight, cross peins, Master Bladesmith tools

Description

A very rare set of 5 Saw setting hammers, used for setting the teeth on large circular saws and tensioning saw blades.

These are much coveted by serious to master level bladesmiths, as the extra wide peins are ideal.
To find 5 in one group is very rare. These hammers are scarce on their own.
The hammers are undamaged though ideally should be rehandled and buffed up. There is an antique saw set spanner included with the set.
I can polish the hammers on a scotchbrite wheel at buyer's request.

Approximate weights are as follows;
1 x 3 1/2lbs
2 x 3lbs
1 x 2 3/4lbs
1 x 2 1/2lbs

two of the hammers bear the stamp "10", and several are marked "high speed steel", a steel type commonly used for drill bits and very uncommon in hammers.

See my other items for much more blacksmith's tools.

Perfect hammer for what I want. It has flaws, but they were well explained in the photos. The price was great, and shipping was fast.

If you want a knife that can be thrown or batoned, it is a very different heat treatment to a knife that just cuts like a straight razor.
