Description

AMETHYST is a meditative and calming stone which works in the emotional, spiritual, and physical planes to provide calm, balance, patience, and peace. Known for strengthening intuition, psychic awareness and spiritual power. Activates the crown chakra, bringing in calm and peacefulness to help one maintain a deeper state of meditation.

SANDALWOOD is believed to help one overcome obstacles on the yogic path. Purifying and strengthening the mind, it emits positive energy and aids in clear perception. Wearing this mala acts as an antidepressant, antiseptic, and aids in being mindful. Rub the mala in the hand for a few seconds to release its fragrance whenever you need it.

QUARTZ CRYSTAL amplifies the spiritual energy of the wearer by bringing in the energy of the stars into the soul. Known as a stone of power, it is a good stone to wear while teaching or giving healings. Because it directs and amplifies energy, it is extremely beneficial for manifesting, healing, meditation, and protection. The tendency of quartz is for harmony, both within oneself and in relationships.

The lotus flower is known to symbolize purity of speech, of the body, and of the mind. A person’s path in life is said to be similar to that of the Lotus. Starting at the seed stage, early in the karmic cycle, through to the bud emerging from the dirty water, representing a person following the path of spirituality and leaving attachment behind, and finally blossoming, this is when a person has become fully awakened.

FAQs

Absolutely. Generally , Etsy has a great default shipping calculator, but sometimes it calculates incorrectly. If you are charged over $1 more than what the shipping costs me I will issue a refund.
Hand knotting with silk or nylon cord takes 2-3 times longer than stringing beads on thread with seed beads in between.
My unique way of knotting creates very tight knots, so there are no gaps between the beads, and I use the thickest size
cord I can to do it to ensure the stability of each creation.
Traditionally, a mala is a tool for meditation, similar to a rosary. One will hold a mala in the hand, or over a finger and recite a mantra, intention, or prayer. With each repetition, a mala bead is pulled over the finger using the thumb.

Many different traditions use meditation beads and have different names for them. Mala is the Sanskrit version of the word. Malas have also become a popular accessory for the yoga lover, as they can help remind one of the path they are on, both on and off the mat.
Yes. I design my malas to be worn as a necklace to be used in meditation. Some people have found that they like to wear them wrapped around their wrist, but not everyone's wrist is the same size.
To accommodate this issue, I can design a custom wrist mala with an adjustable knot to more exactly fit your wrist measurement. Smaller gemstone malas or wooden malas can also be strung on a stretchy cord.
If you are interested in having a custom wrist mala made with 27, 54, or 108 beads , send me a message and I am happy to quote you a price with no obligation or hassle to buy.
Yes. This is a common request for those who wish to wear their mala around the wrist or who prefer a pendant instead of a tassel. Contact me and I can elaborate on your options.
There are countless ways to customize your mala at no additional fee.

Spacer Beads:
From matte to glossy to metallic there are countless options here.

Knotting color:
I have a nice variety of colors in silk or nylon to choose from, and changing the color of knots can make a big difference in the look & feel.

Tassel color:
I prefer to use silk on my tassels and that can limit the color options but I also have a wide variety of cotton thread if you wish to have a color that doesn't come in silk, or prefer cotton for any reason.

Mala Beads:
Substitutions are welcome but sometimes incur an additional cost.
Yes! Always. I take a great deal of pride in my tassels and I hand-make each one. I have 2 types of silk I use depending on the mala.

1. Matte silk:
This is my go-to, it's durable and easy to care for. Most malas in the shop use this silk. It does not "kink" or flair out like some silk tassels do over time.

2. "Fancy" silk:
This is thicker than the matte silk and has more of a shimmer to it. It also has a beautiful bounce and flow to it. It is quite durable if taken care of correctly and won't splay out or kink up like the really thin shiny silk does. If you are interested in this silk, I'm more than happy to elaborate on the simple rules to care for this type of tassel. It's what I use on most of my personal malas.
