This is one of three make-do pincushion block prints that I will be listing. My designs are based on antique pincushions that I have in my collection, some of which were featured by a fellow etsian on her blog, rikrakstudio and then later by Etsy on their blog:

I admire the craftsmanship and ingenuity of folks in the past and most of my work is inspired by things of the 18th and 19th centuries.

My black and white pincushion block prints would be unique artwork for your early American, primitive, folk art, vintage, or eclectic decor.

This piece of artwork is hand pulled (printed) by me and is technically considered an original. I hand carve each block that I use for printing. The water-based block printing ink leaves a lightly textured matte surface ~ a tactile quality that I like to see in handwork.

This print is titled, signed, dated in pencil under the artwork.

Size ~ artwork is 4" x 5", entire piece is 8" x 10"
Paper ~ 140 lb. professional grade, cold press, deckle edge, watercolor paper
Ink ~ black, water-based
Edition ~ open

My work (in a miscellany of mediums) has been featured in various publications, including GreenCraft (by Stampington), Early American Life, Victoria, Create & Decorate, and Arts & Crafts.
