Description

Original and unique dinosaur wall art, this dinosaur painting is a vibrant, colorful painting of "Heliconia and The Spitter". It is an original acrylic painting that brings the Jurassic world home. Wonderful addition of dinosaur wall decor to spark imagination!

The Dilophosaurus dinosaur fine art painting is of a bipedal dinosaur, is of the Theropod family---and existed in the early Jurassic Period, about 193 million years ago. Its fossil remains were found in the Kayenta Formation of Arizona. This dinosaur was among the largest carnivores of its time; however, Spielberg in his movie, "Jurassic Park," reduced its size for purposes of the story---and depicted it as able to spit venom on its prey, like a spitting cobra. Interestingly, though, there is no historical evidence that proves or disproves that trait. For sure, though, the Dilophosaurus was to be avoided.

For fans of dinosaur wall art, this dinosaur painting called the "the Spitter" is an original, one of a kind painting on canvas by Texas artist, Ken Arthur.

Features of this original dinosaur wall art:
-Original
-One-of-a-kind painting
-Acrylic paint on stretched canvas

-Background features tropical flora of heliconia and maidenhead fern (dryopteris) buds

Interesting facts about this dinosaur painting:

-These creatures were giant carnivores---23 feet long and around 900 lbs.
-Distracting jungle flowers camouflage the dinosaur awaiting its prey

Statement from the artist, Ken Arthur:
-I liked the idea of hiding this dinosaur among the similarly colored foliage of a prehistoric jungle.
