Vintage 1938 book "The Flop Eared Hound" by Ellis Credle illustrated with full-page b&w photos by her husband Charles Townsend. "This is the story of a lonely little hound dog. He was adopted by a little negro boy (Boot-jack). However, he made so much trouble in his new home that he had to be given away again. Every place he went he made trouble so that he was given away again and again. Finally, he earned the right to stay forever." About 54 pages, measures 8" x 8 1/2", was an elementary school library book, condition fair to good with duct tape to cover corners, smudges, soiling, wear.
