This is a delicate necklace I designed, using a beautiful, pink and black, Signed JA&S Enamel Butterfly marked 1086, a sterling Y connector, wire wrapped 4 mm AB light pink swarovski bi-cone crystals, teeny tiny black round faceted swarovski crystals, sparkling sterling chain, and all sterling findings. The enamel is in perfect condition. The butterfly pendant alone measures 5/8" from the top of the wing tip to the bottom of the wing top and 1 1/4" from the wing tip over to the other wing tip. This was a broach pin. It had an old pin clasp that was an old replacement so I removed it. This gorgeous necklace measures 16" long with a 3 1/2" sterling extension chain, thus extending the necklace out to 19 1/2", with a sterling lobster claw clasp. I soldered all jump rings closed, so a solid piece. If needed, though, I will happily adjust the length at no extra charge. Your jewelry will come to you in a beautiful gift box

I have also added information from another seller that explains the origins of these beautiful butterflies.

For those of you who appreciate the legends behind beautiful objects, John Atkins & Son made these fabulous butterflies from the late 1800s onward, with particular emphasis during the First World War between 1914 and 1918 and into the early 20s.

The story goes that a butterfly embodied the soul and would visit when a loved one died. As World War I was the first aerial war, many airmen would give a butterfly brooch to their sweethearts to keep as a memento for their safe return. A lovely sentiment and John Atkins & Son lived up to the beauty of that thought and made some exquisite butterflies and dragonflies of various sizes over that period of time. They are now seriously collected, highly sought after and, like all items of limited supply are getting to be a tad pricey and will no doubt continue to do so into the future.

Please, if you can't except the post office might not get your package to you in a timely manner, please do not purchase. I do try to get things to you, as soon as possible with a tracking number. I also purchase as well, and know that some packages may take exactly 30 days from shipment to get to me. I have had this happen to me. It does happen, every once in awhile. I don't want anymore negative feedback on items that are not there when you absolutely think you should receive them. Thank you.
