Description

Original oil painting of colorful row houses in St. Charles, Missouri.

This pretty river town, the site of the first permanent European settlement on the Missouri River, is known for its historic architecture, including this charming group of row houses.

This plein air painting was done on canvas stretched on wood, and it comes with a thick natural wood frame.

Size: The painting is 16 x 20 inches (40.7 x 50.8 cm).
With frame, it's 19 x 23 inches (48.2 x 58.4 cm)

The artist, Helen D. Hume (my mother), painted this picture as part of the St. Louis Artists' Guild paint-out along the Katy Trail. She is an award-winning plein air oil painter, printmaker, and photographer, who has been in numerous juried and solo exhibitions. She studied painting at the Het Vrij Atelier, Antwerp, Belgium, and has degrees from Webster University, St. Louis. She is also the author of nine books for artists and art educators.

The artist retains copyright after sale.
