LAST BATCH!  The 2 fragrances I blend for this soap have both been discontinued, and I have spent the last year searching for a replacement fragrance to no avail.  This is the final batch of Spiced Tobacco soap I will have :-(  I will be replacing it with a similar scent, but it will not be the same, so if you love this soap, stock up now!  Also, because it is the last batch, when inventory gets low I may need to substitute bars - please add a note if you are at all particular about the animal you get, or just email me before you order for an up-to-the-minute inventory :-)

A spicy, warm fragrance of vanilla, cloves and other spices, this is a great soap for men (my husband's favorite of all my soaps) or anyone really! This recipe is made with my own hand-milked goat milk, local lard from a friend's sustainable small farm that I render myself, and a little coconut oil and of course lye - that's it! (Check out my FAQ section at the bottom of the page for why there is lye in soap). I love this soap, it is nicely moisturizing, cleans really well with no residue, and has a great lather!

This soap is available in a molded bar of your choice of a buffalo, bear, or moose, or a simple square bar. The fragrance contains vanilla, which tints the soap a medium brown, which I think compliments the animals well. The animals are available in either plain versions, or with natural mica color accents hand-painted on - this color is just on the surface so it will wash off quickly but it adds a striking pop of color that makes a special gift. I will paint these a warm chocolate brown, although I have several mica colors so if you'd like a different shade just message me to see what is available (gold can be striking, especially for the bear!). All the molded animal bars come in brown windowed paperboard boxes with complete labels. The plain square bar comes hand-wrapped in brown paper with labels as well.

I also make this in a 2 oz square bar with a dragonfly on it, a great size for trying out the fragrance, travel, or gifting, and I offer optional hand-painted color on the dragonfly. This is a colored mica powder that I paint on the surface so it will wash off immediately, but it adds a gorgeous pop of color that is a little extra something for that special gift. I will default to the same chocolate brown shade, although I have several colors so just message me if you'd like a different shade. This bar is packaged in a hand-folded brown paper origami box with a matching lid.

I handmake all my soap in small batches, less than 50 bars at a time. If you have used a good handmade soap before, you know that it is a completely different creature than commercial soap, which can be so drying! When soap is made by hand, the chemical reaction of oils with a lye solution forms the substances soap and glycerin. A typical bar of handmade soap is roughly 1/3 glycerin! This is a humectant, meaning it pulls water from the air - when on your skin, it literally moisturizes your skin by attracting water to it. In commercial soaps, the glycerin is distilled and removed, and later sold back to you in a lotion, but in the "real thing", it is all one package. I used to use lotions and moisturizers a lot, especially in the winter, but I virtually never use them anymore, other than some of my tallow body balm https://www.etsy.com/listing/550982862 on my hands occasionally, and my lip balm or lip blush all year-round!
