Description

Keep your herbs fresh in this air tight medical grade plastic bottle, decorated with coach whipping. I make lots of bottles but no two are alike. Each is a one of a kind item, Coach whipping is a knot or sennet tied around a solid core. Practically it was used on railings, manropes, ladder rungs, steps and harpoons to provide a better grip or foot hold. The Dead Ahead or Lubbers Line spoke on the wheel to indicate when the rudder was dead center. Decoratively it adorned handrails, masts, spars, telescopes, jugs, bottles, needle cases, beckets and at times wrists and ankles. Traditionally the small stuff S(small line) used was often spun by the sailor using yarns from "junk" (rope that is worn or broken and not a flog-able offense to cut up). Examples of this art are rarely seen other than in maritime museums or on historical ships. All etuis are a one of a kind, sailor tied example of this ancient art. Made with nylon seine line and will last forever.
