I've never seen a lilac bush pruned and grown into a topiary tree like the one on this scan of antique French postcard, but I think it is tres belle. And, this card bears my favorite French expression: Ne m'oubliez pas. [nem oo-blee-A-paw]. It means Don't Forget Me. My original postcard, mailed in 1911 from Brussels, had writing on the front, which I have cloned out. I have cleaned this image up a lot but it still retains signs of its antiquity: variance in shades in the background from foxing and age. This scan would make a sweet greeting card or ... I can also envision this lilac topiary in a lush setting with a Marie Antoinette ATC!

No. 2 White

I have another scan of a topiary with roses.
Did you know you can enlarge these scans to 8 x 10 without losing any quality? Print them out on ragged edged fine art watercolor and set them in chippy white frames. Perfect for romantic cottage wall decor! Or, keep the scan its original size and use it for a greeting card. Or how about using them to create a cover for a garden journal? Transfer to fabric for a pillow in your sun room! Beaucoup des options with these scans that you can resize and reuse over and over.
