Commissioned Painting Process:
Message me before buying a custom painting. We'll talk size and price and timeline, but more importantly we'll talk about what you want me to paint. The key to getting the painting you want is communication. Tell me what you want as clearly as possible. If you don't know how to explain it, send reference pictures. I LOVE reference pictures! I will ask you questions. You should also ask me questions. Once I feel like we've talked enough that we're both comfortable enough to proceed, I will create a custom listing for you.

***On commissioned work $60 and over, a nonrefundable deposit for half the total price of the painting will be required to start.***

Once the listing is paid for, I will begin work. I'll send you a picture for approval at about a halfway point in the painting. This is the time to request any reasonable changes - slight pose or color adjustments, maybe adding a new element you hadn't thought of before, or even if you think the painting is going in a different direction than we had discussed. (Please note that completely changing your mind about what you'd like to see on canvas is NOT a reasonable change.) Again, communication is key. I won't know that you're unhappy with something unless you tell me.

If we're all good here, I'll proceed with the painting and then send you another picture when finished. There is room for very slight changes at this point - sharpening or adding details, changing the color of something small, etc. This is not the time to decide you'd like the whole painting to be a different color, or that you really only wanted two trees instead of three.
If the final painting meets your approval, then Yay! We're all done! I'll ship your painting out within a couple days. Or (if we did a deposit first) I'll create a second listing for the remaining half of the price and then ship your painting out once it is paid.
