Vintage Victorian Edwardian 1890s 1900s plaid silk tie cravat blue gold red 15" neck (21217)

This gorgeous accessory most likely dates from the late 1890's or Victorian era and into the early 1900's or Edwardian period. This was probably made for a man, but I'm also seen photos of women wearing cravats like this one.

I believe that the cravat is unworn due to a lack of damage on such and old silk accessory. The few blemishes were probably caused by exposure and improper storage over the years:

1) The color is bright and unfaded. Any variation from one photo to the other is due to lighting.

2) The fabric is clean and free of rips, shattering, bad smells, perspiration damage, or noticeable spots.

3) There is rust damage on the metal tab on the end of the collar.

4) There is a small pin sized hole and a faint 1" spot on the front of the tie just under the knot.

5) There three small brown spots on the white lining. However, these do not show through to the plaid silk.

The neck measures 15" around.
