Description

Queen of Hearts Gets Ahead | Photographic 1800's Carte De Visite |
Mirthful Victorian Portrait | Ladies & Gents | Amusements Abound!
Peculiar Portrait | Oddity | Unusual | Theatrical Heads | Millinery | Hats |

• Photographer LA Marsh
• Origin Kenosha, Wisconsin
• Circa 1887. Date is handwritten upon verso.
• Approximate Dimensions | Card | 7.9 x 4.8 cm (rather tiny)
• Approximate Dimensions | Image | 6.4 x 3.9 cm

• Fair condition. This petite treasure had been very handled, substantial wear to edges and corners, age stains and discoloration, crazing to photograph emulsion. Please use the 'zoom' feature to enlarge the scans for better viewing, and visit the further description below.

For those not yet familiar with Carte De Visite, (also referred to as a CdV or 'visiting card') they consist of a paper photograph mounted upon a heavier card, and are the about size of a standard modern business card (this one is slightly smaller). The CDV was wildly popular during the American Civil War and the Victorian Era, they were collected and kept in parlor albums, frequently they were given as gifts. Queen Victoria herself collected them!

••• Five Mister Lincolns are for display only, not included with the CDV. •••

Antique postcards, photographs and ephemera may have
subtle wear consistent with age. Please offer your thorough
consideration to the provided description and scans.
Representation of color may vary with monitor.

Antique and vintage items are sold AS IS.

I do combine shipping for items bought together.
