Description

Sorry, we could not translate this listing to English.
Past matelotees glass balls were used as floats on the buoys to flag (as water), on uses (rope connecting the buoy nets or lockers) to indicate the current and allow a better "lifting" on the nets themselves to stabilize them vertically in the water.

To tie them up and put them away from shocks, fishermen "matelotaient" during the winter, surrounding them from "end" (pronounced "boutte" = line) natural hemp. Hemp not resistant to humidity, these fishing floats were then "coaltares" (immersed in liquid asphalt), to protect them.

Today, glass fishing floats remain among fans of "Old Navy" and replaced by horrible but practical floats plastic...

The "counter de la Fleur de France", eager to find things, brings his "glass balls" by craftsmen at Laurent Lesiourd, master glassmaker in Pont-Aven (a blown glass), and "Pack" patiently (an hour is needed to wear them as well), turning them into real "fishing floats"! Please note, this achievement is 100% handcrafted, color may vary slightly (green will be able to be more opaque or translucent...).

Small (8 cm diameter) and in 4 colors (red, green, blue, yellow), these fishing floats illuminate the marine world you are looking to create! It is the most requested "Counter of the flower of France", some covering even the Christmas tree...

Diameter = 8 cm

    This is the most fantastic and unique nautical bracelet i have ever seen! Apparently according to Arnaud I am the first person from USA to get one, and i am beyond impressed by his artistry in nautical jewelry making, I loved it so much I ordered a second one in reverse colors! I wear them together and a lot of sailors ask me where I got them, while I am hesitant to keep this find all to myself I share my secret because they bring a smile to my face... always good to share happinesses in this difficult world. I will be posting photos soon, while I am at sea... to do them justice 🌊⚓️👩🏼‍✈️
    Stay tuned... better yet, get one!
