Description

This unusual, handmade pen is a "Phoenix Rising" themed ballpoint which opens and closes with a twist of the nib. The cap, topped by an amber colored gemstone, is cast with the mythological bird with its wings wide spread as it rises from the ashes in its rebirth. The clip is cast in the form of the bird's tail (also with an amber gemstone embedded in it) and the nib depicts the dancing flames. The pen, my item # 101504, uses standard Parker (or equivalent) ballpoint pen refills (ships with black ink). It has a body made of TruStone acrylic (a proprietary blend of powdered minerals, stone, and colorants suspended in an acrylic resin) in white with copper veins running throughout. This novel design is not only cool in and of itself but is perfect for anyone who has suffered some hardship or calamity and ultimately survived and come out of it even stronger - rising from the ashes to rebirth and new strength. This pen is a bit fatter than many pens and all its metal, with an antique copper finish, gives it a very nice heft and substantial feel in one's hand.
