Description

Art Deco Bohemian glass decanter set designed by Karel Palda in the 1930s.

This Czech cocktail suite comes with 4 shot glasses, the decanter and its original stopper.

The decanter has been hand painted with playing cards and the shot glasses with the playing card symbols.

It was made in Czechoslovakia and designed by Karel Palda.

The set was featured in the 1938 50th anniversary Karel Palda catalogue of its current lines and is shown in Miller's / Andy McConnell's book '20th Century Glass' published in 2006 and valued at £250-500.

The decanter is:

22cm (8.5 inches) high;
11cm (4 inches) wide;
and weighs 1.5kg (3.5 pounds).

Each glass is:

7cm (2.75 inches) high;
5cm (2 inches) wide;
and weighs 100g (0.25 pounds).

The set is in excellent vintage condition with no cracks, chips, scratches or bruises. There are some very small flake chips and fleabites on some of the corners of the shot glasses but they are not very visible.
