Absolutely love it, it's a gift for a coworker who loves teal and purple colors and is having a baby in a few months. Contacted the seller with a question and they responded within an hour. Very happy with the item and would absolutely buy from this shop again.

I sell all sorts of stuff like scarves, hats, blankets, and sometimes even plushies and other fun bits! Everything except the yarn itself is handmade. :)
It varies depending on the item. I personally consider myself to be a pretty quick crocheter so it can take from a day up to a month for me to make something (always depending on the size and complexity, of course!)
It started back when I was in high school (so like 2008) and I was making stuff locally for kids at my school. I would get requests from teachers and even parents from time to time to make scarves. Half way into high school, I started learning about Amigurumi and was taking plush commissions as well.

My business went through three name changes: Sweet Ch3rry Crafts, The Artisian, and then finally The Yarn Skull. I'm officially settled on the last one and it is now an official running business in Virginia. :)
I want to but, due to finances, I currently can't. However, once I start kicking up, I will start to open up international shipping so literally EVERYONE can purchase something from my store and get it safely.
I would recommend getting a tape measure from a local craft store and measuring your head. I try to make it so my hats are "one size fits all" but, I will say, sometimes they are not 100% perfect fit. I personally am the type that really likes loose hats and there are people that like tighter hats.

That's the importance of measuring out your head.
So, to explain: crochet is the art of using fiber to create a series of loops and basically looping them together into various knots. When I finish the product, there's typically a tail that I use to stitch back into the fiber to make sure it stays secure. In addition, I also use a double knotting technique that secures the tail even more so that the product doesn't fall apart.

Also, the knots make the products more legit. As I mentioned, a lot of my stuff is handmade (if not all, really) so there will be some minor imperfections like knots sticking out - though I try my best to make it so the knots don't visibly stick out so much that they bother people.
Often times when I'm making a product on a whim, I tend to just roll with it. Sometimes I'll decide "hey, this short length is really nice" or "OMG I really love this long scarf".

Unless it's a custom request, I just do what comes to mind or what I'm inspired by. :)
Honestly, I have a rule that helps with keeping a stable financial line for running my business.

Michael's, Jo Ann's, and AC Moore's.

They all usually have sales and coupons you can use so you don't break your bank while trying to make products to make a living. I'd recommend those three stores personally for any yarn needs you have. They also usually carry other things you need like darner needles and cotton.
My name is Eryn, but my friends call me Closet (referencing an old gamer tag I had).

I have a BFA in Graphic Design, a certification in Criminal Law, and a need for doing things with my hands. I live as a freelance crochet artist and graphic designer, and also live with my wonderful significant other, Donald.

I guess I technically run two jobs? I am self-employed (The Yarn Skull) and also create game assets and graphics for a small company called Imagination Corps (this is a temp name). I enjoy both of them and really hope I can keep them up.
If the product smells off, I would recommend putting it in a gentle warm or cold wash and a gentle dry.

I just moved so, if the product smells off, I apologize ahead of time. I've made sure that the "old house" smell is out of my room with candles.

If you're wondering why I don't wash products after finishing them, it's because of the concern of other people's allergies. I use laundry pods to clean my laundry and I don't want to assume that my pods won't cause someone else's allergies to flare.

I would much rather you take the product and wash it with a laundry detergent that you're used to instead of me risking your safety with my own detergent.
