Description

'Silver Bling'

Weight: 120 grams (aprx)

Length: 32 metres (aprx)

Handle: medium

Yarn for your inner magpie! This blingy art yarn has been handspun by me with iridescent crystal glass beads. Sadly it doesn't show on the photos, but these beads really do pick up the light and shimmer. I've done my best to capture it, but really has to be seen. I've spun in 3 types of glass beads to create an eye catching effect.

I've spun this from gorgeous silvery gotland x jacob fleece, to which I couldn't resist blending some silky exotic banana fibre. I've spun in some of the locks whole. I only spin fleece from 'wool only' flocks, and this particular fleece belonged to a sheep that lives at a lovely animal rescue sanctuary, making this a vegetarian friendly art yarn.

As part of the finishing process, I wash my yarns in a little bit of dilute hair conditioner mix (if it's good enough for humans, it's good enough for sheep!) The conditioner I use has a faint coconut scent. Most find it pleasant, but it will wash out if you don't like it.

I love making art yarn. Whilst it's a slow, time consuming process that can only be produced by hand, that's part of the enjoyment. I aim to show off the natural qualities of whatever fibre I use for a truly unique artisan yarn.

I take custom orders, contact me :)
