The adventure of the sea meets the deep dark forest in this driftwood and Bocote spiral ring with Rose gold spiral veins. Perfect for the sailor, surfer or beach-lover, hiker, tree enthusiast and world explorer. The driftwood was found on beach in southeastern Australia*, sun bleached bone white. Bocote is an exotic rainforest wood, naturally brown and tan, native to Central and South America.
*I shot the photo of the beach featured in this listing on the day I collected the driftwood.

--- DURABILITY ---
Not all wooden rings are created equal! Our unique spiral grain technique makes our rings remarkably strong and more durable than bentwood, laminate or carved wooden bands. If you've ever split firewood, you know that wood is weak with the grain and strong against the grain. That's why an axe can quickly split a log lengthwise, but it takes a chainsaw to cut across it. Building off of that principle, our proprietary spiral grain technique ensures that every side of the ring has cross grain, making our rings strong and beautiful from every angle. Additionally our rings are internally stabilized with resin and externally strengthened with five layers of a glass filled acrylic clear coat, similar to the protective coating on wooden surf boards and canoes. Of course it’s important to note that even our wooden rings are not as resilient to sudden impact or harsh abrasion as metal bands. There are some substances (such as abrasive cleansers, or acetone) that might damage your ring’s finish, and certain activities (like rock climbing, lifting at the gym, heavy gardening or jackhammer operating) that we recommend taking your ring off prior to, but overall our rings are strong and safe for everyday wearing. We include with every order protective polishing wax and a handy care card that outlines do’s and don’t’s, Just like a piece of fine wooden furniture, with the proper care your ring can last a lifetime.
--- ENGRAVING vs GILDED INSCRIPTIONS ---
We don’t recommend engraving wooden rings, as that cuts into the ring potentially creating a weak point and preventing the ring from being properly sealed. Instead we offer a service unique to Grown Rings that we call Gilded Inscriptions. Using a precious metal (24K Gold or 14K White Gold) we can inscribe your message on the inside or outside of your ring. The inscription is then permanently sealed in a hypoallergenic, non-conductive layer that blocks the metallic inscription from ever coming into direct contact with your skin. Gilded Inscriptions are available in three fonts at a maximum of 20 characters for $39.95. --- PRODUCTION TIME AND RUSH ORDERS ---
Each and every ring we craft is made to order. We don’t use mass-produced blanks or metal cores. Our unique spiral grain method, stabilization and five-layer coating results in a stronger, more beautiful ring, but also takes a little longer to complete. As such, your ring will take between 2-4 weeks to create, and ships within the US via 2-3 Day Priority Shipping (contact us for options and estimates for International delivery). If you need your ring urgently, we do offer the option to upgrade to a Rush Order. This service guarantees your ring in 10-13 days, costs an additional $29.95 and can be added to your order using this link: https://www.etsy.com/listing/594219474/grown-rings-rush-order-upgrade-your-ring
Need it even faster than that? Message us directly and we will do our very best to accomodate you!
--- SIZING ---
Our recommendation for the most accurate fit is to use our 3D printed sizing ring service. Made of biodegradable plastic, we will custom print and send you multiple sizes at the width you wish to order. You can try them on or wear them for a few days to really get a feel for which size suits you best. If you are unsure of width, we can also print you different sizes and widths to test drive. This service costs $1 and includes postage. You can order 3D rings here:

If you have no idea of what size you need, the next best option is to be professionally sized by a jeweler local to you (this service is free of charge), and to be sure to try on rings in the width you wish to order. If you are unable to visit a jeweler, and you have no idea of your ring size, then we are happy to send you a standard ring sizing kit. To be 100% certain, both of these options should be confirmed with 3D printed sizing rings. Don’t hesitate to reach out if you’re unsure which method is best for you.
--- RESIZING ---
We ask every customer to double check their ring size. Finger shape, blood pressure, temperature, body weight and the width of a ring can effect size, so if you receive your ring and it feels a little snug or loose, then we are able to resize it a half size larger or smaller, and we offer this service free of charge and only ask that you cover the cost of shipping. Please note that resizing is limited to a 1/2 size larger or smaller, and it is essential to double check size before ordering, and if you need any help, don’t hesitate to message us.
--- REPAIRS ---
If an accident occurs or your ring is exposed to solvents, acetone or other harsh chemicals, then the protective clear coat may become damaged. If you notice that your clear coat is scratched or cloudy, first try applying the included polishing wax. If the damage persists, contact us immediately and provide photos of the troublespot. Exercise extra care and avoid getting your ring wet until we can review and advise best next steps. In extreme cases, it may be necessary to refinish your ring. Refinishing is available for $79.95 and includes round trip shipping.
Warranty: Accidents can happen, especially if this is your first ring and caring for it is new to you. If your ring is damaged within the first year, we offer free refinishing and only ask that you pay for shipping. If any issues are found with your ring within the first 30 days, we will correct them at no additional cost to you.
--- RETURNS ---
Each and every ring we create is made just for you and to your chosen specifications - it’s unique! Generally because of this we are unable to accept returns. There are some instances where we are able to accomodate a return, for example: if you ordered a ring that is much too large or small and resizing is not possible. In these cases if you choose to order a new, replacement ring at the correct size, we will accept the return of your original, unworn ring, and if/when we are able to see it to another customer* we will refund you the original payment amount. (*Note: these resales are largely made to in-person customers via one of our third party retailers.)
