Handwoven scarf for women: "Take Me To Your Tundra," wearable art in arctic colors. It is handwoven and knit and crochet and woven with top-stitching and other fiber techniques. 3 different hand spun yarns. 3 different weathered, soft, broken in fabrics, including linen from Japan. Ivory, brown, golden tan, apricot, very muted plum, off-white, cream, beige-gray-taupe. Mostly linen and cotton...plus wool, alpaca, metallic, chenille, synthetic. SOFT wool. Soft enough to wear against your skin. The handwoven section was created on a lap loom. Up to 6 1/2 inches wide. Thick in places. Warm enough to wear with a winter coat. Fringe along the handwoven edges. Button handmade in Scotland. About 8 feet long, not counting the hand crocheted end that you can use to secure the scarf in place. Wrap it around the unusual, one of a kind, handmade wooden button if you like. Or not. Hand wash gently in cool water and mild detergent. Hang or lay flat to air dry. Frequently asked questions about LifesAnExpedition

Sorry. We do not negotiate prices, change listings, add photos or break up destashes for you. We only ship in the time frame and method stated, but if you order a lot of small merchandise that would ordinarily be shipped first class, you may be upgraded to USPS Priority Mail.
We use First Class mail for packages up to 13 oz., which includes most of our scarves, hats, headbands, table runners, orders of 1 to 4 yarns, pillowcases and small handbags; it usually takes around 5 business days within the U.S. We use faster Priority Mail for larger packages; it usually takes 2-3 days within the United States. And we use Media Mail for books, which usually takes a week or two in the United States. But the post office won't tell you the exact day your package will arrive...therefore we can't either. Allow extra time when there's a national holiday, a long weekend, a blizzard/tornado between you and Chicago, etc. We notify every customer of shipment and provide a tracking number.
Don't panic. The nature of the USPS is to charge more to ship the first pound and gradually less for every additional pound that a package weighs, depending on how far you are from Chicago. So, yes, you are going to see the cost of shipping get higher the more single and double skeins of yarn you put in your shopping cart. Generally, if you buy up to six skeins of yarn, the rebates are already built in to the price. But when you order 16 or more skeins, we may have to calculate and process a rebate for you--AFTER you pay, at the time that we pack your order. Many yarn lots already have discounts built in, though.
If you order a number of things, you could get a rebate, depending on what you order, how big the product is, how much the package weighs, whether we offered shipping rates below our actual cost to mail it to you, what your zip code is, how far you are from Chicago, how fragile the product is, how much we have to pay for protective packaging, whether or not it fits in a flat rate box, whether we can put one of your purchases into the same box as something else you ordered without risk of breakage, etc. Lots of variables, eh? That's why we cannot predict combined shipping fees in advance.
Not year-round. But we often include Canada, Australia and some countries in Europe in about half of our listings. International buyers are responsible for any and all customs fees or import taxes. Life's an Expedition is not responsible for these fees or any delays due to customs. We will send you a tracking number, but please realize that your order will likely take weeks to arrive unless the package weighs over 4 lbs. Rebates, as described in FAQs, apply to your order if applicable. We may add or subtract countries from time to time, which has nothing to do with your country. It is about logistics and paperwork at our end. If you are not fluent in English, please ask a friend or relative for help.
Only on clothing, as per instructions found in the clothing listings. Please follow those instructions to the letter.
We do not permit returns on any listing that doesn't specifically address the issue of returns because we take the time to give accurate, detailed descriptions and measurements with large photos you can zoom in on. But if WE make a mistake with your order or in the listing, we promise to make it right with you. Please contact us in a POLITELY worded email via Etsy (not the yahoo account) within a few days of delivery WITHOUT leaving adverse feedback. We will get it sorted out. Let's hope you never have to read this section of our policy page. We heart Etsy in a giant way and love making things that we hope you will love, too. Our very high feedback rating demonstrates that We Play Well With Others.
We don't offer wholesale arrangements, but we often have sale or bulk merchandise that you are welcome to resell in a bricks and mortar shop. Not on Etsy.
Everyone receives a tracking number without having to ask for one and Paypal sent you an email regarding this. But the best way to TRACK YOUR PACKAGE is by logging into your Paypal account to look at your payment to Life's an Expedition. There is a column for shipping status. Click on TRACK. (If you are outside the United States and your package is small, we send you a tracking number via Etsy convo.)
Very unlikely. USPS tracking information is not flawless. Your package could be within a day of reaching you without any indications of this in the tracking data. However, if the tracking # shows delivery, yet you have not seen the package, ask other residents at your address if they brought in the mail, look in the shrubs around the mailbox and front door, etc. If those avenues don't pan out, contact your post office and give them the tracking number we gave you. Our 12+ years of experience have taught us that when a tracking number shows arrival, it usually means the package DID arrive but someone in the household or office forgot to tell you.
