Description

Tree of Life jewelry is a perfect theme for transplant related gifts. These pieces make wonderful presents for living donors, families of donors, transplant recipients or families and friends who have helped and nurtured you during the transplant journey. Trees of Life are universal designs that are symbols for the continuity and growth which transplants provide. As metaphors for limbs that reach both upwards and around us, these designs represent love, an umbrella of protection plus the opportunity to grow into something healthy and beautiful.

I currently have 2 sizes available for these Mother of Pearl and sterling Trees of Life. The pendants were found at a gem/bead show and were hand carved in Thailand of lustrous Mother of Pearl which has been set into sterling silver bezels. Sterling snake chains come with each pendant.

The large size is 1.75" diameter and on a 20" snake chain.
The smaller size pendant is 1-1/16" diameter and on an 18" snake chain.

Wondering about my story and why I'm selling Trees of Life and kidney jewelry? I'm a long time kidney patient who was on kidney dialysis for 10 years and who recently celebrated my 15th kidney transplant anniversary. When I had my transplant, I could not find any meaningful gifts for my wonderful living donor/Hero. I had been working as a bead jewelry designer, so the next logical step was to design my own pieces. I took some casting classes and made her a one-of-a-kind kidney shaped pendant. A metals studio is not a safe place for a transplanted kidney due to chemical exposure, so I now design sterling pieces to specifications and have a silversmith studio do short production runs. I also find kidney shaped or tree of life designs at gem shows and create jewelry from them, as well as commission artists to create special kidney shaped beads just for me.
