These scroll saw wood keychains are based on patterns by Steve Good. Some are his designs and some use public domain clip art images. They are cut by hand (not laser cut) on a scroll saw. The image is cut first from 1/8 inch thick hardwood, then the front and back (1/4 inch thick hardwood) sections are glued together. Next, the oval shape is cut and sanded. The image is filled with polymer clay and baked for 30 minutes. The surface is sanded smooth, the polymer clay image is sealed with sculpey glaze, and the wood is finished with a wipe on - wipe off urethane. Finally, the top surface is sprayed twice with a glossy acrylic sealer.

This key chain has an image of a sea turtle. The front wood is maple and the back wood is canarywood. It is filled with green sculpey polymer clay mixed with a bit of colored sand. The size of the oval is 1 1/4 inches wide and 2 3/4 inches long. Attached is a 4 inch long ball chain and a 32 mm split ring.
