Beautiful 1930’s vintage first edition two step 1227 Anglepoise lamp
Designed in the 1930's by George Carwardine and manufactured by Herbert Terry & Sons, Redditch, England between the late 1930's until the 1960’s.
This 1938 first edition model 1227 Anglepoise lamp looks fantastic with black paintwork over steel arms and lovely patina.
Slimmer profile, perforated shade. With its original 'Crabtree' Bakelite bulb holder. Wear proportional with age and associated light wear / marking to the base & a couple of minor dings to the shade. beautiful first edition 1227. New 3 Core vintage Braided Flex has been added.
These true British design classics are becoming very desirable and are going up in value all the time.
All lamps for use in the UK will be PAT tested prior to dispatch so you can buy with confidence.

This was extremely well-packed. Not even the light bulb shifted during the trip over the pond. This looks like it was fresh out of the factory. Just beautiful.
A really nice example of a early production model 1227 pre adjustable springs with tulip shade, two stepped base .... untouched condition
