It was probably carved by a simple villager who didn't have the means of obtaining a real tiger fang, which were usually worn only by royalty and religious leaders. This 'immitation' tiger tooth is by no means any less impressive, though, especially when you consider the skill it took to carve something so small with such detail!
An excellent piece which is believed by many to ward off evil spirits and protect the wearer from malice.
Measures nearly 2" long and displays a wonderful orange-brown patina from age. Has a smooth, glossy finish to it, meaning that this was well-worn!
This is a PERFECT museum-quality tooth, but it does have a very tiny chip on the extreme tip of the business end (Don't worry, though! It's hardly noticeable to the untrained eye).
Purchased at an antique store in Windsor, England. The seller thought it was from a tiger until I pointed out the differences in size and build, so he cut me a deal which I'm now passing on to you!
As always, questions are welcome and requests or custom orders are greatly appreciated!
