The Suffolk was developed in Britain in the early 1800s and was brought to the US in 1888. It is widely used these days in the US by 4H because it tends to have multiple lambs. This ewe had only one lamb, but she is very protective of it.

The ewe is approx. 5" tall. Their head and legs are porcelain and the body a cast stone (1 lb). The fur is a woven wool from the same german source that Steiff teddy bears uses.
